A Healthy Market Ecosystem

After two weeks with a plethora of Microsoft-related news, this past week's wide diversity of stories is proof positive that there is still a very healthy and competitive IT market for developer-related tools and technologies. From Macromedia to OpenOffice, IBM to Firefox, Google and Sun, Redhat and others, there's a huge array of development options out there for you to choose from.

We'll bring you what we think is the information you need and want to hear. If there's something you need that we're not covering, let us know what you want, and we'll do our best to bring it to you.

Beyond the developer news, such as the new Google-Sun partnership (potentially a boost to Java and OpenOffice), and a bold new attempt by Macromedia to lure hundreds of thousands of new developers to its tools and technologies, there are practical tips and techniques ( How To Future-Proof Your Firefox Extensions will prove useful for anyone taking the Firefox 1.5 Beta out for a spin). If your interest in Firefox is even more hands-on, check out the Is IT Still Worth It? Check out the trends and statistics in the story, and let us know what you think. Is IT still a good option for you, and would you recommend it to a young person contemplating it as a career?
