April 19, 2006 Microsoft To Aid Indian Software Startups By K.C. Krishnadas Courtesy of EE Times BANGALORE, India — Microsoft Corp. has launched a program under the Microsoft Innovation Center and aimed at aiding the startups building software products and solutions for the global market. "Innovation and intellectual property thereof are the areas which will unleash the next wave of growth for Indian and help Indian truly realize its value. Microsoft is committed to creating an ecosystem (in India) which will foster and fuel this growth," said Dan Lewin, corporate vice president, strategic and emerging business development, Microsoft, in a statement. Microsoft held a summit here where over 150 Indian companies discussed how they can be part of the global product opportunity. The Microsoft programs for startups comprise offerings such as idea validation, product building, product planning and architecture, managing a product company, go-to-market and venture capitalist introductions.
